Birthday Gift Bags for residents of Frey Village for residents' birthdays. Distributed once a month.

The Zion Soup and Rummage sale will be held Tuesday November 7 from 7:00am until 3:00pm.

Rummage donations may be placed in the church social hall now thru Oct. 29th. Please donate gently used items.

A reminder: no paint, electronics, or used medical devices. Ask one of the ladies if you aren't sure. If you clean it

before dropping off, it saves the women a lot of additional labor.

There is a sheet on the bulletin board for pre-orders of soup. Volunteers for pack-

up at 3:00pm are welcome and so appreciated. The next Zion Women meeting will

be November 1. Please join us!

REPORT OF ZION WOMEN DONATIONS THIS YEAR:

Because we didn’t have a Rummage Sale for several years and our treasury was

low, we could not give our usual charitable donations. But that has changed a bit,

thanks to the return of our Rummage Sale, and we are determined to give as we

have in the past. We will send $100.00 to the S. H. Volunteer Fire Co., and

$200.00 for our prison ministry. We also donated $200.00 in memory of Shirley

Bonawitz to the Speranza Animal Rescue and we have $500.00 in reserve for

possible use for an office copier, if needed. Thank you for your support of everything at Zion.

Zion Women will meet on Wednesdays once a month (PLEASE check Weekly Events for possible changes). We will continue to coordinate the ***Adopt a Family program at Christmas.  Nye Elementary School is grateful for anything we can do. We will again apply for a Thrivent Grant to help.

***CHRISTMAS - ADOPT-A-FAMILY - Zion providing Christmas for a local family.  A local elementary school chooses the family. We receive lists of items the family could use. Clothing, shoes, sheets, toys and books are among the gifts.  The tags and instructions are currently posted on the bulletin board inside the door.  If you would like to help and are unable to pick up a tag, please feel free to contact leave your name and number and the reason for your

call at (717) 566-2861.  The congregation  has supported this program for over 25 years.  In addition, we apply for a grant through Thrivent that helps to expand our abilities.

CHANGING HANDS - MEDICAL EQUIPMENT:  Have you been wondering what to do with medical equipment your family is no longer using? Are you in need of a wheelchair or walker?  United Cerebral Palsy of Central Pennsylvania has a reuse program called Changing Hands.  Manual wheelchairs, shower seats and benches, over-bed tables, walkers, canes, lift chairs, raised toilet seats and portable ramps are being accepted.  Because of limited space, they cannot accept hospital beds or stair glides.  ALL items must be in good to excellent condition.  Changing Hands will clean the items and make them available to people who need them.  If you have questions about obtaining items, or would like to arrange to drop off items at their Camp Hill location,

please call 717-737-3477 or 1-800-998-4827 (toll free) or  email: atucp@ucpcentralpa.org

UPDATE ON OUR RONALD McDONALD RECYCLE MISSION - For the time being, we cannot take shiny paper.  The company that picks up the paper cannot get parts for their machines, consequently the bin is full and there is not way to know when they are able to resume pick-up.  We will notify you when we are able to restart this mission.
